Top 5 quick service meals at Disneyworld

We’ve eaten at many of the quick service restaurants at Disneyworld. We have our favorites, as I am sure you do too! The top 2 I MUST have on every trip to Disney – #1 I often have 2-3 times! Do you have a favorite Quick service meal?

#5 – Flame Tree BBQ – I think this is the best place in Animal Kingdom to eat. I mean, it’s BBQ! The first time we ate there, I was trying to carry all our food, and the water’s spilled all over the food (no lids at Animal Kingdom). I pretty much just burst into tears. It had been a long day, with 2 small children (what did I know then? 2 seems like a cake walk now!). The Cast Member saw me, brought me back to the counter and replaced all the food. She said “It’s ok. Don’t worry! It’s been a long day, huh? We’ll make it all better!” She totally made my day. Since then, this restaurant has a special place in my heart – remembering that Cast member who took care of a young mother who just needed a break.

#4 – Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe – We tend to eat here at least once per trip. The 1/2 a rotisserie Chicken is large enough to share. The toppings bar is fantastic – Nacho cheese! Plus the kids love listening to Sonny Eclipse.

#3 – Lunch at Be Our Guest – We ate lunch here twice on our last trip. The food was pretty good – I enjoyed the Croque Monsieur (see above photo), plus the Gray Stuff is Delicious! The atmosphere and getting the food magically delivered to your table is a nice touch! It is a bit more expensive that most quick service places, but it is worth it at least once per trip.

#2 – Columbia Harbour House – this is a new favorite for us. I simply loved the Lobster Roll and the fact that their menu is more than the regular hot dogs and hamburgers. Plus there are lots of places to sit, even upstairs views, for large families. If you’re not a fan of seafood, you might skip this place, but otherwise, it is a great place to get a different theme park menu.

#1 Tangierine Cafe – This is my FAVORITE quick service at Disneyworld. The Chicken and Lamb Shwarma platter is so good! I eat it at least 2 times per Disneyworld trip. It is large enough to share too! I love getting good food, and a bargain at the same time. I could use some Shwarma right now….

Honorable mentions:

Sunshine Seasons in Epcot – there is so much variety here and something to please everyone in the family. While child swapping on Soarin’, we often sit and eat a dessert while waiting for the others on the ride. This is a great place if you have alot of picky eaters that don’t want to eat in the World Showcase!

Hollywood Studios – to be honest, we haven’t really found a quick service place or meal in Hollywood Studios that we love. The kids loved the Sci-fi Drive in – but that is a table service (but it has quick service like prices). If we had to pick one, my kids would pick the Toy Story Pizza Planet because it is “more fun” than the other offerings. It’s just Pizza (mediocre at best – it is theme park pizza after-all). However, if given the choice, I’d rather make reservations for the Sci-fi Drive in or the 50’s Prime Time Cafe.
